Bangladesh Sanskrit and Pali Education Board, Dhaka has published the Sanskrit and Pali exam time table. According to the education board notification, the exam will start from Sunday 18th December and the exam will end on 21st December 2022. Moreover, The notification from Education Board was published on 24/04/2022.

Pali Education’s History

Bangladesh Sanskrit and Pali Education Board is an autonomous education board that manages various educational institutions providing Pali and Sanskrit education in Bangladesh. It is located in Dhaka at Basabo Dharmarajik Buddhist Mahavihara.

The Bangladesh Sanskrit and Pali Education Board was established in 1915 in Calcutta, West Bengal as the Bengali Sanskrit Samiti. After the partition of India in 1947, the Bengali Sanskrit Society was divided into three separate branches. The Assam Sanskrit Sabha was formed for Assam, the East Pakistan Sanskrit Sabha for East Pakistan and the Bengali Sanskrit Education Society for West Bengal. The East Pakistan Sanskrit Sabha was renamed the Pakistan Sanskrit and Pali Education Board in 1962. After the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, it was renamed Bangladesh Sanskrit and Pali Education Board. The secretaries of this board included notable personalities like Govinda Chandra Dev and Suddhananda Mahathero. The board has sanctioned 110 Sanskrit colleges, 88 Pali colleges and 50 examination centers.


The most notable institution of Bangladesh Sanskrit and Pali Education Board is Chittagong Pali College. The college was established in 1939 at Chittagong. The founder principal of this college was Aggamahapandita Dharmavansa Mahasthavir. He died in the year of establishment. After his death Pandit Dipankar Sreegyan Mahather took over as the new principal. He was the principal of this college till his death. Many developments work of the college took place during his time. So, in recognition of his work the college was renamed as ‘Dipankar Pali College’.
